What is display fingerprint scanner?

Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner

Ultrasonic Scanner launches a new chapter in the smartphone world. Ultrasonic scanners are the most advanced technology and the most efficient. Qualcomm is the first to launch a 3D ultrasonic scanner for mobile phones.

This type of scanner is fingerprinted by high-frequency sound. The transmitter and receiver have two parts inside the scanner. The transmitter transmits high-frequency sound that resonates with the finger and returns to the scanner, and the receiver portion of the scanner receives that echo sound.

The sound of this frequency is beyond human hearing capacity. The receiver portion is not a microphone, which is a sensor used to calculate the speed and distance of a sound wave returning to the fingertip.

The in-display fingerprint sensor is connected to the main display inside the Module Board. The advantage of using a scanner is that the finger can be placed anywhere on the display for scanning.
The Under-Display Fingerprint Scanner Display is inside the Module Board but remains outside the original display. A small hole is made in the display for the scanner to work. Through which the scanner can take a picture of the finger. In-display fingerprints, such as under-display fingerprints, do not require any perforation on the original display. This is because the fingerprint scanner is connected to the main display panel.

Advantages of the Display fingerprint scanner

The display fingerprint scanner is much thinner than the Traditional Capacitive Fingerprint Scanner. Which helps reduce the smartphone's tiredness. Normally the display fingerprint scanner is at the bottom of the phone so the phone lock can be opened in any case. The disadvantage of a Display fingerprint scanner

With the introduction of new technologies, problems arise. Display fingerprint is slower than all fingerprint scanners used before. Occasionally finger scanning does not recognize registered fingerprints or does not work properly during scanning. No screen protector can be mounted on the display, so the fingerprint does not work well. The scanner does not recognize fingerprints when using tempered glass. Also, the scanner does not work if the screen has stains, dirt and fingers wet. The biggest problem is that this type of scanner doesn't work on a typical display panel (TFT, IPS etc). Only OLED panels work, which is the smartphone's most expensive display panel. So at the moment, the low-end smartphone cannot be expected to have a display fingerprint scanner.
