In India, which companies come in the realm of C.S.R.?

The rules for Corporate Social Responsibility (C.S.R) were implemented in India on April 1, 2014.

According to the rules of India CSR, companies whose annual net assets are Rs 500 crore or annual income of Rs 1000 crore or Rs 5 crore annually.

The following companies will need to spend CSR, to whom

  • The annual net worth of Rs 500 million annually
  • Annual income is Rs. 1000 million.
  • Rs 5 million annually.
Such companies have to spend CSR. Also, this cost should be at least 2% of the average profit of 3-year firms.

According to CSR rules, CSR provisions not only apply to Indian companies, but also to foreign companies, branches of foreign companies, and project offices of foreign companies in India.



In India how much does spent on CSR?

According to the ministry data, Tk 122 crore was spent on CSR activities during the period 0-6. This was 11.5% higher than the previous year.

The 2015-16 report for the year includes 5097 companies. Of which only 2690 companies spent on CSR. The top 10 companies have spent Rs 3207 crore, which is 33% of the total expenditure.

  • RELIANCE INDUSTRIES: 760.6 million
  • ONGC: 495.2 million
  • INFOSYS: 239.5 million
  • TCS: 219 million
  • ITC: 214.1 million
  • MTPC: 205.2 million
  • MMDC: 188.7 million
  • TATA STEEL: 171.5 million
  • OIL INDIA: 133.3 million
  • WIPRO: 132.7 million
It is clear from the statistics that Reliance Industries has spent most of CSR in India.


How much does it cost in any case?

  • Health and Medical: Rs 3117 million
  • Punishment: Rs. 3073 million
  • Rural Development: Rs. 1051 million
  • Environment: Rs 923 million
  • Swachh Bharat Fund: Rs 355 million
According to a recent survey, in 2016, 99% of Indian companies followed CSR rules.xxx

What activities are conducted in CSR?

Under corporate social responsibility, companies have to take part in activities necessary for the welfare of the disadvantaged or disadvantaged sections of society.
